Sprinkles was founded by Candace Nelson in Beverly Hills in 2005 and is widely credited with launching the gourmet cupcake craze, later adding 24-hour Cupcake ATMs. The company closed its corporate bakeries at the end of 2025, though a small number of locations have since reopened with limited menus.
